Tailor Made are excited to be recruiting for a well-established leading manufacturing company in Lancashire. They are seeking a Assistant Accountant to join their growing team.
You will be responsible for carrying out cost accounting functions including but not limited to analysis of cost data, analysis of work order variances, assisting the Finance Director in annual standards setting, analyse related cost structure and process changes during the year and adjust standard costs as needed prior to start of the new fiscal period. Participate in monthly, quarterly and year-end inventory taking and auditing. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant looking for the next step in their career.
Roles & Responsibilities
The role:
- Analysis and correction of work order variances
- Daily plant productivity calculation, analysis, and report out
- Analysis of labour costs and overhead expenses each week, throughout the month in comparison vs. budget, forecast, prior month, and prior year
- Assist Finance Director in annual budget preparation and new standard cost setting (including work centre rates)
- Input and maintenance of Bills of Materials including costing reviews
- Proposing of selling prices including new products and current model price adjustments
- Maintenance of master price list
- Preparation, collection and analysis of stocktaking documentation
- Inventory valuation calculations
- Comparison, identification, and analysis of variances between stock report and general ledger (resulting in smaller book-to-physical adjustments/variances at month-end close)
- Carry out periodic audits on stock procedures, counts and valuations
The ideal candidate will:
About you:
- Accounting, Finance or related field with minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience using ERP systems
- Communicate with other departments and lead teams efficiently
- Part/Full Qualified in AAT, ACCA, CIMA or QBE
