Job summary
Tailor Made Sourcing are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company based in Burnley. Our client is currently seeking a CNC Miller to join their successful company on a permanent basis.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machine.
• Carry out machining of components.
• To measure components produced on machines and use inspection equipment to ensure that components are manufactured to drawing dimensions and tolerances.
• Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
• Contribute to a team working environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Manually handle weights up to 25kg.
• Complete quality documentation.
• Use computer equipment for data purposes.
• Work to lean theory (5s).
CNC machines you will be expected to set and operate:
• Mori Seiki Horizontal Machine Centre 3 + 4 Axis
• Mori Seiki Vertical Milling Machine
• Okuma Horizontal Machine Centre 3 Axis
• Okuma Vertical Milling Machine
• Mori Seiki SH630 Horizontal Machining centre.
• Mori Seiki MH50 Horizontal Machining centre.
• Okuma MA-650V Vertical machining centre
• Okuma MX-45 Vertical machining centre.
The role also includes other general duties to maintain the efficient working of the department.
The above list of tasks is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake duties
as may be reasonable expected. All employees are required to be flexible and co-operative in
order to assist in meeting business needs.
The ideal candidate will:
• Ability to use own initiative to work as an individual or as part of a team unsupervised.
• Ability to operate computer equipment for data purposes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and engineering quality plans.
• Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment.
• A methodical approach to systems and understanding of the importance of standards and established/agreed systems of work.
• Able to make decisions based on experience, have confidence to act and make changes within given boundaries.
• Good personal organisation under pressure from time, internal and external customers.
• Time management skills.
• Good verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to promote the company in a positive manner.
• Ability to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions
• Experience of working with stainless steels and machine programming using Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak CNC controls.
• Be proficient at set up, operation and adjustment of tool and fixture offsets on CNC machine tools as well as conventional milling machines would be preferred.
• Experience of working to tight tolerances.
• Prior knowledge and experience of machining stainless steels in a variety of forms including billet, castings and pressings would be advantageous.
